About the Trail

A favorite starting point for a moderate ride, this trail features rooty singletrack that keeps you on your toes before opening into a fast, flowy mile through a beautiful stand of mature pines. It's an ideal warm-up before exploring the rest of the trail system, and riders looking for a longer adventure can continue from here to complete the full loop.

Along the way, you'll encounter a couple of steady climbs with a switchback or two. The biggest challenge comes after the trail ends, where a sustained climb up the park road will test your legs. At the top, you'll pass the road leading to the Gorge Overlook, a worthwhile detour with scenic views, restrooms, and benches—an ideal spot to catch your breath before continuing.

From there, continue along the park road past the fire tower and back toward the parking area. Look for a small opening on your left that leads directly to the trailhead.
