Mohican’s New Visitor Center is Open!

It’s long overdue, but on August 12, Mohican State Park officially opened its brand-new Visitor Center — and it’s a fantastic addition to an already beloved destination. Fittingly named the Gateway to Mohican State Parks, the center offers great amenities for campers, trail users, and day visitors alike.

A Grand Opening Worth the Wait

Governor Mike DeWine and other dignitaries attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony, celebrating this major upgrade to one of Ohio’s most popular parks.

What You’ll Find at the New Center

The new Visitor Center is packed with thoughtful features, including:

  • Educational displays

  • Indoor/outdoor fireplace

  • Outdoor seating area

  • Gift shop

  • Water bottle refill station

  • Large, clean restrooms

Perfect for Riders, Hikers, and Campers

Located near the main MTB trailhead, the center is a convenient stop before or after your ride. Mid-ride, it’s a great place to refill your water bottle or take a bathroom break. After a long day on the trails, unwind by the fireplace or rest your legs in the outdoor seating area.

A Gem, Now Even Brighter

Mohican has long been a standout in the Ohio State Park system. With the addition of this modern, welcoming Visitor Center, it shines even brighter.
